What is Cinnamon?
Cinnamon (sinomon as spelled in a 17th century recipe provided in a remedy for nausea) is bark from a tree native to Sri Lanka and perhaps China; used as flavouring in both sweet and savory dishes, and medicinally as an astringent, antiseptic, and stimulant (passim).
